Skiing at Salamandra
Just a 25-minute drive from the chalet lies Salamandra Resort – a ski center featuring a downhill slope, night skiing, a children’s lift, and equipment rental, ideal for families and recreational skiers.
The surrounding area also offers opportunities for cross-country skiing, winter walks, sledding, or easy hikes with stunning views of the snow-covered Štiavnica Hills.
Cycling
The surroundings of Chalet Symphony are also ideal for cycling enthusiasts. You have 2 high-quality electric bikes at your disposal, allowing you to comfortably handle even more challenging climbs.
Directly from the chalet, you can set out on picturesque routes leading through meadows, forests, along lakes, and past historical landmarks of the Štiavnica Hills.

Tip 1: Pivovarský loop D
Lenght: ~ 12,4 km
Duration: about 2 hours – the perfect pace to enjoy the views
Route: starts at the Water paradise Vyhne Thermal Resort and leads along paved forest roads, occasionally through light forest trails.
Tip 2: Vyhniansky loop
Length: ~22.4 km
Duration: about 3 hours (depending on fitness level and number of breaks)
Character: a larger loop with more elevation gain, more viewpoints, and diverse.
Hiking
The area around Vyhne and the Štiavnica Hills offers a lot of hiking opportunities. From easy walks and moderate climbs to panoramic trails with breathtaking views. One of the most popular destinations is Kamenné more (“Stone Sea”), a natural monument easily reachable after a pleasant hike from Vyhne.
The “Vyhne – Jelenia Skala” trail is an excellent choice for those seeking a balance of natural beauty and moderate difficulty. Forest paths alternate with meadows and scenic mountain views.
For families or anyone preferring a more relaxed pace, there are shorter routes such as the educational trail “In the Footsteps of Mining Activity in Vyhne”, or peaceful walks to Vyhne Travertine or Jelenia Skala.
Rafting
About a 12-minute drive from the chalet, in the village of Bzenica, you’ll find a perfect starting point for rafting on the Hron River. The calm river section (WW I) is ideal for beginners and families, offering a relaxing experience on the water.
At Bzenica, you can rent a boat or raft from a local rental service. From there, you’ll be transported upstream to the starting point and then drift back down to Bzenica, where you return the equipment.
The river section is rated WW I, meaning it’s very easy and suitable for beginners and children. Depending on the chosen route, the trip takes approximately 1.5–3 hours, providing a peaceful and enjoyable experience surrounded by nature.
Banská Štiavnica
The historic mining town of Banská Štiavnica, a UNESCO World Heritage site, offers a rich blend of history, culture, and nature – from mining museums and reservoirs (tajchy) to viewpoints and historic landmarks. Wander through narrow streets with a unique atmosphere, discover art cafés, galleries, and craft shops.
In summer, the surrounding nature and reservoirs are especially inviting, while in winter, enjoy peaceful walks through the town with views of the snow-covered Štiavnica Hills. It’s an excellent option for a full-day trip.
Distance: 25 minutes by car from Vyhne.
Via ferraty
If you’re looking for an adrenaline experience, there are two attractive via ferratas near Vyhne, approximately a 30-minute drive away.
Via Ferrata Skalka near Kremnica offers diverse routes of varying difficulty (from B to extreme F), suspension bridges, ladders, and panoramic views – ideal for both beginners and experienced climbers.
Via Ferrata Sokolie skaly near Zvolen, located by Pustý Castle, provides easier routes with rope bridges and viewpoints, suitable even for less experienced visitors or families. Both ferratas are well-marked, easily accessible, and offer an unforgettable experience in the beautiful nature of the Štiavnica Hills and surrounding area.
